11.            Courses

                  

The Sunfish and the Optimist:

These types of boats will sail the Olympic triangle (Caracasbay area) in which the Sunfish will make three laps before finishing and the Optimist two laps before finishing.

Yachts will start first race, every morning in front of sea scouts.
After that, they will start in Caracasbaai region.

12.            Marks

12.1.       Course marks are orange and/or yellow cylinders and/or fixed marks. The finishing mark will be a red cylinder.

Location of marks:
B1- Orange Buoy seaward of director’s bay
B2- Orange Buoy levelled with the streetlight with the X on it on shore all the way in the Caracasbay.
B3- Orange Buoy 300 meters after Zanzi Bar

B4- Orange Buoy 200 meters past the 2nd watch post of the Boca Gentile Project.
 

13.            Start

13.1.       Races will be started in accordance with RRS 26 with the warning signal given five (5) minutes before the starting signal.

13.2.       The starting line will be the line between Mark 3 at the port end and a orange buoy on the starting vessel at the starboard end.

13.3.       Contrary to the Black Flag Rule RRS 30.3, no individual sail numbers will be shown. The last sentence of RRS 30.3 will be deleted.

13.4.       Boats whose warning signal has not been given shall avoid the starting area.

13.5.       A boat starting later than 5 minutes after its starting signal will be scored ‘DNS’. This changes RRS A4.2.

14.            Finish

14.1.       The finishing line will be between a staff displaying the flag on the race committee tower at the starboard end and the finishing mark at the port end.

15.            Time Limits

15.1.       Boats failing to finish within 180 minutes after the first finisher will be scored ‘DNF’ (Alteration of RRS 35 and A4.2).
